Foreign tourists need a visa to enter India. Please contact a visa agency or the Indian Consulate in your country of residence or apply here for an e-Visa.
Please note: Your name must be written exactly the same on the visa as in the passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months and contain two blank pages when entering India.
The Treatment House is open from the end of July to the end of March. Climatic conditions vary somewhat during this time. Traditionally the rainy seasons are the perfect time for Ayurvedic treatment. The main monsoon is in June/July. The hot months of April and May are not suitable for treatment. The average daytime temperature is about 30°C (86°F), depending on sunshine, cloud or rain.

October: initially mostly dry, mid-October the second monsoon begins, chance of heavy rain
November: cloudy, regular showers, heavy rains

Visitors coming from Yellow Fever countries must show a valid vaccination certificate. No other vaccinations are compulsory. Tropical institutes can provide information about recommended vaccinations.
Light summer clothes and natural fibres are recommended. On the Treatment House premises it's fine to wear tops and shorts or short skirts/dresses. Outside the premises – in the village or the city – it's advisable to keep the shoulders and legs covered. Long pants/skirts/dresses and t-shirts/blouses/shirts are fine – a scarf or shawl round the shoulders can also work well.
Open shoes (flip-flops or sandals) are fine. An extra pair of shoes that will not be damaged by oil are useful for going to the treatments. Bath robes and towels are provided.
You might want to bring a small torch to be prepared in case of power cuts.
Our library offers a small selection of books in English.
Anything you omit to pack is likely to be available in Trivandrum (e.g. cosmetics etc).
A washing machine is available.
Payment is possible in cash (INR, EUR, GPB, USD, CHF) or via bank transfer.
We don't accept credit card payment at the Treatment House.
Bringing Rupees into or out of the country is not permitted. The best exchange rates are offered by the exchange offices in the city (not at the airport!).
India is a country that touches all senses. It's full of life – full of colours, scents and noises.
The temple music in the early morning hours and in the afternoons is part of every day life. When there is a temple festival on the music might be quite loud. There are various festivals in India – especially during the festival season in February and March.
The voltage is 220 volts. C, D, F and M type plugs match with the sockets at the Treatmenthouse.
